Picture the scene. I'm sitting by the pier in Wexford, a magnificent full moon blazing behind me. It's a nocturnal painting session at Art in the Open, and naturally, most of the artists are busy painting the moon.
But as usual, something else caught my eye.
I found myself drawn to the city lights, the movement of passing cars and the colourful reflections lighting up the road.
With my head torch firmly strapped on, doing its best to illuminate my palette, I settled down on the ground to paint. I'd forgotten a rather important attachment for my easel, so sitting on the ground wasn't entirely by choice!
A slightly chaotic painting session, but a wonderful evening and one that brings back very fond memories.
