I've been fortunate enough to visit the magnificent Mount Congreve Gardens in County Waterford several times over the past few years. It's one of those places I never tire of returning to.
What particularly appeals to me about this view is the beautiful sense of distance. The hills gradually fading into the atmosphere, their soft colours reflected in the still waters of the river below.
There's something wonderfully peaceful about the way the landscape seems to dissolve into the distance, with the reflections adding another layer of softness to the scene.
This was painted in my studio, where I had the opportunity to explore those subtle changes in colour and tone, allowing the distant hills and their reflections to gently merge together.
